IGT Software History
The company is one of the earliest players in the industry and traces its roots to A-1 Distributing Company. In 1981, it decided to introduce the company to the public, boosted by the success of the video poker machines. It soon purchased Electronic Data Technologies in 1984 that helped shaped the IGT software as the early proponent of player rewards systems thanks to a player tracking system. Today, the IGT software is not just the system that tracks frequent player usage but other gaming companies as well. This tracking technology by IGT was soon known as the sbX and Advantage systems.
